SOLVING X

TOGETHER, WE ARE THE SOLUTION What is ALD?I'd like to help!

ADRENOLEUKODYSTROPHY

WHAT IS ALD?

Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) is a disease that affects the nervous system of children and adults who inherit the genetic defect. The myelin sheath, an important component of nervous system cells, is degraded, causing eventual paralysis. ALD is X-linked, which means that symptoms manifest primarily in males. Females that carry the gene defect have a 50% chance of passing it onto their sons, and may also show some mild symptoms.

LISTEN

STORIES FROM PEOPLE LIVING WITH ALD

Storytelling is one of the most powerful forms of sharing information. Here, we give families affected by ALD space to share their experiences, triumphs and struggles. Listening is the best way to learn how we can aid these families.

WHO WE ARE

WHAT IS SOLVING X?

We are more than an ALD information source. We are more than a hub for donation. We are the solution. Solving X is an action-directed organization dedicated to spearheading a new generation of ALD support. We believe our pillars of value will revitalize the fight to solve for X.

Education

We aim to make information on ALD accessible to everyone. Understanding and awareness is key.

In the age of connectivity, we should get to know each other. We want to bring ALD families and supporters together in unity.

Research Support

Supporting our champions in research is crucial. We want to do our part to contribute to the medical front.

Z

Action

We believe in the value of now. There is no action we are not willing to take, big or small, to push the fight against ALD forward.
